Here's a collection of photos (dance-related, conferences, social events) throughout Spring quarter. Enjoy!

We went up to UC Berkeley to guest perform at the end-of-semester showcase of their big dance group, The Movement.

Swingtime and other Stanford dance groups performed at a dance expo during Admissions weekend.

3 May 2007 (Thu) - Spiderman 3 premiere

Swingtime goes to the movies to catch the first midnight showing of Spiderman 3.

Hehe, we dressed for the occasion too. The Spiderman soft toy is Karen's, who is an avid collector of all things Spiderman :)

4 May 2007 (Sat) - Nana's pre-birthday drinking party

Our newly expanded stash of alcohol and mixers.

Nana mixing up some drinks.

I try my hand at making drinks too....

Some of the guests.

The roomies take a shot together.

5 May 2007 (Sat) - Swingaporean potluck

The food cooked by me (chicken rice, fried beehoon, steamed tofu+mushrooms, chicken curry) and Miko (baked fish)... Jason also brought Filipino spring rolls (i.e. lumpia).

The Swingtime crew at my apartment.

Singing karaoke after eating.

6-9 May 2007 (Sun-Wed) - American Transplant Congress at San Francisco Moscone Center

Pasta for lunch on the first day of talks.

Karine and I have noodles on the 2nd day.

I hitch a ride back to Stanford from Olivia :)

Hehe, noodles again on day 3.

12 May 2007 (Sat) - Stanford Powwow and Spring Faire

Colourful native-american costumes on the men...

... and women.

The girls, after checking out the Spring Faire organized by The Bridge Peer Counselling group (of which Hannie is part of).

18-22 May 2007 (Fri-Tue) - American Association of Immunologists meeting in Miami, Florida

In the hotel room I shared with Stacie (Loews Miami Beach hotel).

The view of the beach and sea from our room... so pretty.

A cute R2D2 mailbox on the way to the conference center.

Lunch on the first day of talks.

Photo-taking at the hotel on the way to check out the beach.

At Miami Beach!

Dinner at some Cuban-Asian fusion restaurant (Oriente) that is owned by Gloria Estefan.

My poster :)

Dinner at a crab/seafood restaurant along Ocean Ave (actually next door to Oriente).

Coffee and a danish before we hang out by the pool.

Hanging out with Stacie by the hotel pool (the talks weren't that interesting that morning... shh...)

Dinner at a vegetarian Indian restaurant near the hotel... Ever tried soy chicken? It's not as bad as it sounds.

Lychee and mango sorbet from a supposedly famous ice cream store just off the pedestrian street Lincoln Ave.

Lunch on the last day at a diner near the hotel. It is VERY american-sized. I actually managed to split it into 3 meals...

Me and Stacie on the plane leaving Miami for Stanford.

31 May 2007 (Thu) - Chunxiu and VJC visit Stanford

I met up with Chunxiu and her VJC kids when they came to visit Stanford as part of their "Silicon Valley" trip. It was nice to catch up :)

A very cute pic of Swingtime after our Spring Show (7 dances!).

13-14 June 2007 (Wed-Thu) - Swingtime retreat at Karen's home in Oakdale, CA

Lunch at Krung Siam along Uni Ave before we head to Karen's home.

Ed enjoying himself at the back of Karen's 8-seater car.

Baby goats!

Chengos and Peter with Karen's cow.

Karen shows us her cherry trees.

And we pluck them straight off the trees and eat them right there!

There are ripe plums too!

We had quite a fruit feast before proper dinner... :)

Everyone at dinner... prepared by Karen's mom.

The next morning, Karen makes us pancakes. The eggs she used were from the hens they rear. I bet Ma likes the kitchen they have :)

Me and Peter at breakfast.

The gang inside the house...

...and outside the house :)

15 June 2007 (Fri) - Potluck group sushi dinner

The potluck group tries out JY's new deluxe sushi making set she got for her bday.

Hanging out with Hannie after the EE ceremony to have some cake and apple cider :)

19 June 2007 (Tue) - Gwen Stefani's The Sweet Escape Tour @ Shoreline Amphitheatre

Me and Nana get comfy on our lawn seating (~$20 per person).

Lewis, Nana and Nana's labmate K-man

The first opening act - Lady Sovereign, a 5'1 white 21-yr-old rapper from London.

Second opening act - Akon

Gwen Stefani on the big screen... since we couldn't really see her on the stage from where we were.

Gwen signs a fan's handbag and proceeds to sign the tour T-shirt in the bag... so cool :)

We finally manage to make it to the front of the lawn section during the encore, since some people had left early.... the view from there is great!

This is during the final pumped-up song "What you waiting for".

Gwen and crew say bye-bye.

Outside Shoreline Amphitheatre after the show... it was great, even though we couldn't see her on stage most of the time.
